Organza Sarees

Organza is a plain-weave, sheer fabric with a crisp, stiff hand — traditionally woven from silk, though synthetic organza in polyester is now widely available. Silk organza has a natural sheen, slight transparency, and a structured drape that holds its shape without stiffening agents; polyester organza achieves a similar look at a lower price point. In sarees, organza is valued for its ability to hold embroidery and appliqué work without puckering, and its sheerness creates a layered, ethereal effect when draped.

Organza sarees have grown in popularity as bridal and festive wear, particularly for reception ceremonies and cocktail occasions. At Greenways, the organza collection includes plain Banarasi organza with woven zari borders, heavily embroidered organza for bridal wear, and printed organza for festive but less formal occasions.

Care note: organza creases easily and should be folded carefully rather than rolled. Store flat or with acid-free tissue between folds. Silk organza requires dry-cleaning; polyester organza can be hand-washed gently in cold water.
